VISION & VALUES

Our Mission Statement:

To help seekers become followers of Christ through authentic community.

Our vision is:

To provide a safe and culturally relevant venue for people to hear the claims, and experience the love of Christ.

We strive to provide an authentic venue from which people within the community can hear the life changing claims of Jesus in a safe and intellectually stimulating environment. We recognize that people are at different places in their life journey, particularly in respect to their spirituality. Whatever the background, we believe that there is hope in this world, and that this hope can be found in Jesus. The ‘good news’ of Jesus is not old news but it is relevant, timeless and life changing. Therefore, we strive to be sensitive to the seeker while being specific in our message. We invite people to come and explore, not a religion, but a relationship

To communicate and model grace and authenticity

We live in a world that is broken. Western culture is filled with the stories of lives broken by failed relationships, financial and employment stress, racism, unemployment and sickness. In response to a broken world, the message of Jesus is one of healing, reconciliation, forgiveness and redemption. We value an atmosphere that is filled with grace, because all of us need grace. We value a ‘come as you are’ philosophy.

To serve the local community

The words of the 1 John 3: 18 state: “Dear children, let us not love with words or tongue but with actions and in truth”. God also requires us to “love our neighbors as ourselves”. Churchill Meadows is a multi-ethnic community, a beautiful collage of people representing the nations of the world. Within our community exist broken lives and people living with various pain and degrees of stress. As a church community, we value serving the local community as individual members and with the collective intent of the church as a whole.

To respond to the spiritual and practical needs of the global community:

We live in an unequal world. Disparity between countries that have economic success and those that do not is great. 1 John 3:17 states, “If anyone has material possessions and sees his brother in need but has no pity on him, how can the love of God be in him?” This is a direct challenge and an awesome opportunity to be cognitive and intentional in using our resources both financially and through the gifts and abilities of the people of our church community to make a difference in the world. We will strive to respond to the needs of the global community through specific mission’s projects and endeavors.

The Bible also asks us to be representatives of Christ’s redemptive message to the World. It is, therefore, through acts of service that we hope to demonstrate God’s love and earn the opportunity to share the good news of Jesus to a broken world.

To provide family programs that are safe, supportive and spiritually nurturing.

Each stage of life offers rich opportunities to learn and grow. We will provide children and youth programs with excellence and love. To meet the emotional, and spiritual needs of children through fun and supportive children’s programming is one our major priorities. Youth also require a safe place to be heard and understood and require programs that address the issues and challenges that today’s teens face. Our vision is to provide such programs.

To see spiritual growth and ‘community’ develop through small groups:

Small groups provide the ultimate venue from which to build relationships and grow in love and grace. Real spiritual growth so often occurs when people are real with each other in a casual home setting. We envision people growing in community and in their relationship with Christ in a small group setting.

To be a Church-Planting community Church

We are a Church community born out of the vision of the people of Churchill Meadows Christian Church to plant a ‘daughter’ church. Church planting is a successful and biblical tool to reach out and to bring the redemption message to the ears of spiritual seekers. It is our vision to plant a church within five years and to assist it in its growth through resources, and people.
